Ole Henriksen Skin Survey Winner!

Last week, I took a skin survey for Ole Henriksen and when you take the survey they enter you for a prize.  This week I found out I won! Woo hoo~ So they sent me $100 worth of Ole Henriksen's skincare products for my skin.  This week's been awesome! (I also won a trivia game with Ovation Cell Therapy, so I won 6 oz. size of shampoo, therapy, and conditioner!)

If you read my older post, you know that I've met Ole Henriksen at a Sephora event. (read my old post here)  Ole is seriously the nicest down to earth guy ever.  He still visits his spa often as it is his baby. :)
At the event I was also able to get some deluxe size of his products and I've loved them all.  So I can't wait to try what they sent me!

Most of the products were for right for my skin- Dry!  I'm probably less sensitive and more dry. :)
Someone also wrote me a nice card.  I'm thinking it's Ole.  Cuz he seems like that kind of a guy. :)

They sent me New Beginning Scrub, Skin Insulator Creme SPF 15, Apricot Cleansing Lotion, Balancing Cucumber Face Tonic, and Clean Shave .  I'm so excited to try this out.  I've also been meaning to repurchase the Blue Black Enzyme Mask, cuz that was pretty awesome last time I used it.

I really like their color coordinating system for different skin types and the simplicity of their packaging.  You can buy their products through their website olehenriksen.com or sephora.com.

How to Make (구운계란) Roasted Egg Korean Spa Style

I was at a Korean Spa in Koreatown - WiSpa this weekend... And as usual I had (구운계란) Roasted Egg, which is like a MUST when you are at a Korean Spa (Jjim jil bang).  Traditionally, the eggs are Roasted in the oven for days.  They come out nice and toasty turning roasty brown, and chewy with a bit of flavor.  I thought, why can't I make this at home?  I crave it when watching Korean dramas or just want this egg, and it's so hard to go to the jjim jil bang just to go eat this....

So I looked it up on how to make this, and I put a little bit of my own twist.  I tried it twice and it came out fantastic!  No egg farting smell, easy to peel, and no need to use salt when eating!  So I'll tell you how to make this!

What you need:
1. Rice Cooker
2. Eggs
3. Salt (Sea Salt is better)
4. Sink and Water

I'll put the steps with pictures first and put simple step by step below.
1. Leave your eggs out in room temperature (out of the fridge) for 2-4 hours.  This is to prevent the eggs from cracking.
2. Wash your eggs thoroughly. Use toothbrush, or sponge.
3. Place eggs in your rice cooker.  Do not stack the eggs on top of each other.  It should only be one layer of the eggs.
4. Fill it with water so it covers half of your eggs.

5. Add Salt.  I'd say about a tablespoon.

6. Cook your eggs in "white rice cooking" setting.
7. After your eggs are cooked for the first time, turn your eggs over to the other side, and add water so water is quarter way to your eggs.  So half the amount of water from the first time. (two of my eggs cracked, cuz I didn't leave it outside long enough)
8. Cook your eggs again in "white rice cooking" setting.
9. You can leave your eggs in the rice cooker until you are ready to eat.
10. DONE! YOU JUST NEED TO ENJOY!!!!

Instructions without pictures:
5. Add Salt.  I'd say about a table spoon.
6. Cook your eggs in "white rice cooking" setting.
7. After your eggs are cooked for the first time, turn your eggs over to the other side, and add water so water is quarter way to your eggs.  So half the amount of water from the first time.
8. Cook your eggs again in "white rice cooking" setting.
9. You can leave your eggs in the rice cooker until you are ready to eat.

Not only is this an easy way to cook your eggs, it doesn't have the funky smell, yolk is more moist, it's already lightly salted so no need to salt it again, it peels easily, and no sliminess! And you don't have to wait to go to the jjim jil bang to have this. :)
I also tried leaving the egg for longer than a day in the "keep warm" setting and that tasted yummy too!
And according to wikipedia, the black spots that form outside the egg while slow cooking is the cholesterol leaching out making this type of egg cholesterol free.  I'm not sure if this applies cooking in the rice cooker.

Let me know how yours turn out! ^_^

Sephora VIB Event: Meet the Experts- Ole Henriksen

Last night my friend and I attended the Sephora VIB Event at Ole Henriksen Face/Body Spa in Hollywood.  When I initially called, I didn't expect much... maybe a goodie bag, but they asked me set a time for my mini facials and treatments.  I was so impressed.  So last night was more than I expected.  What a great turn out!  Great food, great prizes, and great treatments.  I got a short massage, hand treatment/massage, mini peel pacial, and mini hydra facial.  And we got to meet the founder of Ole Henriksen himself!  What a sweet man!  And his staff as well!!!

All of his products smell really really (yes I said really twice!) refreshing and I love the colors that he chose for his products!  I got whole bunch of good sized samples from the goodie bag (that I actually want to use)!  I can't wait to try 'em.  I'm really excited about the Micro/ Mini Peel.  I've been looking to see if there were other good at home peels.  His products are very reasonably priced.  He also has wide range of products...

I promise you will see how super duper nice they all are here...

Spa Week: April 11th ~17th Mark Your Calendars - $50 Treatments!

$50 Spa Treatments at Participating Spa Week Facilities!!!

Mark your Calendars People!  The List will be announced Monday, March 14th and the booking begins!
They book fast especially on weekends, so decide and book fast!

Check http://www.spaweek.com/ on Monday morning for the list of participating spas.
If you have not been to this site before, it'll require you to sign up with an e-mail as a log in.

I've gotten $100 to $250 spa treatments and massages at some nice Spas in Los Angeles and Las Vegas during spa week for $50!  Great way to try the pricier Spas without getting too disappointed and a dent in your bank account.

I think Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery participates (I mentioned in my previous posts and video).  They have participated in the past but we will find out on Monday!   I highly recommend the Diamond Tip Microdermabrasion.  This normally costs $150.

In Las Vegas, my friends and I were lucky enough to try the new Aria Spa.  Big spas in Las Vegas normally do not participate, but they did last year, because they weren't opened for very long and I think they wanted to get their name out there.  Out of all the spas I've been to in my life, this is my favorite place!  They have infiniti pool style jacuzzi (co-ed) overlooking the outdoor pools of Aria Hotel.  It's like a private pool.  Plus, the water is at comfy 90 degrees, so you can even visit during the cold winter months. :)

And unlike other Spas, Aria Spa has many many co-ed areas.  So if you are just going with your significant others, there are many rooms you can enjoy together.  Even if you don't want to try any of their services, I highly recommend you paying the entrance fee (I think it's either $25 or $30) to use the facility.  It's heavenly.

From my experience, these two places are worth mentioning.

I'll probably go back to Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery MediSpa to visit Pearl or try a new spa!  Can't wait to tell you guys all about it!

Mark your calendars!!!  Go Pamper Yourselves!  You Deserve it! Cuz I said you do! hahaha
