Review: First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream & Spring Renewal Kit

I'm not too picky about face creams, moisturizer whatever you want to call it.  I usually use different one every single time I run out.  I usually stick to Korean brands, as my mom buys it for me everytimes she goes to Korea.  And it usually lasts 6 months to a year.  But I really didn't like the one she got me last time.  It was for dry skin and as my face is combination and dry in other places other than the T-Zone, it was way too heavy.

And I never use just one moisturizer because it's never moisturizing enough.  So I always use a moisturizer and layer it with "Essence" or Serums or another moisturizer like Eucerin Q10 Lotion with Sensitive Skin with SPF 15.  But I didn't like how I had to wear SPF at night.

About a month ago, I was doing light chemical peel/ lactic/ salicyclic acid peel (at home chemical peel). for twice a week, so I can take off a layer off my skin.  When you are doing peels, it's very important that you moisturize and use sunscreen.  And after the peels, my skin was super sensitive.

I searched moisturizer for sensitive skin on Sephora and came up with this.  First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream ($28).  It got great reviews, and Sephora only had 3 full size First Aid Beauty Products for $38 (retailing at $78).  So I opted for the Spring Renewal Package deal.  I believe on-line only has Summer Kit for $45 but stores might still carry the Spring Renewal Package.  And let me just say, I have found my moisturizer for life!  (Continue reading for my review)

It comes with full size Ultra Repair Cream, full size Facial Radiance Pads, and full size Face Cleanser (All for $38).

Review of Ultra Repair Cream:

I think this is an awesome product.  (I bought travel size, and 5 in 1 Day Moisturizer too)
1. It's for all skin types, sensitive, dry, combination, oily.
2. It's super duper moisturizing without being heavy.
3. It's paraben free
4. A little goes a long long long way.  And the big tub will last forever (for only $28 each)
5. You can use this as a body moisturizer too.
6. It relieves minor irritation and eczema.
7. And best of all, this product aborbs and melts in deep into your skin super fast.
8. It has built in Antioxidants!!!

I think this is the best moisurizer I have ever used.  I was sooooo impressed, I went out and bought another kit, because it was such a great deal.  And this moisturizer has helped me tremendously on keeping my skin moisturized during my chemical peeled sensitive face days.  It also relieved the irritations/sensitivity I was experiencing.  Also, I personally don't like using any face products with SPF at night (because it's completely unnecessary), and with this product, I can use it at day and night.  While this ultra repair cream is super moisturizing, it doesn't break me out, I actually think it has minimized the irritations and break outs.  It also is not oily, and does not make your face shiny.  I believe because it absorbs deeply into your skin instead of just sitting on top of your skin.  This product is not scented, but it does have a bit of minty/ medication smell.  I personally didn't mind it at all.  I highly recommend this product.  I'd almost like to say, "you are missing out".... kekeke

One thing I didn't like was the foil seal when I first opened it.  It would not budge, so I actually had to cut the foil seal open with a scissor and tried to clean it up as much as possible, but it wasn't easy.  First Aid Beauty, hopefully you have fixed this problem.   You see the messy foil seal that's still left on?

This is a nice creamy foamy rich cleanser.  And it compliments the FAB Ultra Repair Cream really well.  I particularly like using this when my skin feels a little sensitive and irritated.  I don't know how well it takes off makeup because I usually take off my makeup with other things before I even start washing with cleanser.  But this foams up very nicely and doesn't leave your face extra dry.

Review: First Aid Beauty Radiance Pads: $28

These pads are for exfoliating, toning and brightening your skin without any alcohol, and while other products can be more on the irritating side, this is specific for sensitive skin.  I was able to use it everyday in conjuction with the moisturizer and the foam cleanser and never felt irritation.  One side of the pad is a bit quilted for extra exfoliation, it also includes right amount of glycolic and lactic acid to help your skin exfoliate (in a chemical sense).  I use it to clean and exfoliate my neck area as well.  I personally could live without this product, but I do like using the whole entire kit.   There is really no scent, but there is a bit of some scent, a bit funky.... but not enough for you to notice.  My nose can smell stuff miles away, so I could be a bit sensitive.
Review: First Aid Beauty 5 in 1 Face Cream (SPF 30): $38

After falling in love with First Aid Beauty's other product, I wanted a day moisturizer without having to slather on extra SPF on the days I work (which I rarely get any sun on my face) but also have enough to protect my skin while I'm driving to work.  So I picked up the 5 in 1.  I love this face cream.  It's just another version of the Ultra Repair Cream, but with SPF, and more liquidy.  It does it's job without being heavy. Doesn't make your face oily. I don't have to wear anything else other than this and eye cream for my skincare routine in the morning.  I usually mix this with my Philosophy Turbo C (Vitamin C) Powder.  I love it.  I just wish the bottle was a bit bigger. :(

I highly recommend all of these products because they moisturize really well without being heavy, it's good for sensitive skin, it absorbs fast, and the price on these are sooo affordable and reasonable.

NOTD: Hello Kitty and Rainbow Inspired Nails

Now that I have all the tools in the world to pretty much own my own nail shop, I did my friends' nails.
They were nice enough to let me experiment on them. hahaha

First up, Saeah's nails... She wanted Rainbow Nails.  We took five bright colors and painted slanted french tips and put bling bling glitters.  (Thanks Saeah!)

Then next we have Ashley, who is a hello kitty lover like myself.... she wanted hello kitty nails.  I really didn't know what to do, so we painted her nails all white very opaque and did freehand french tip with bright pink.  It didn't look hello kitty really, so I freehandedly drew pink hello kitty bow on her ring finger nails.  It actually looked really simple but cute.  I think I might have to try this next time.  Although it's really hard to draw on my right hand with my left hand. kekeke

(Yes, she is holding a can of budlight... hahahaha)

NOTD: Lilac Nails

Took a break from bright colorful nails and went with something a little more toned down... but I ended up putting little jewels on it and went a little overboard with the dotting tool. :)

I drew slanted mismatched french tips with Essie St. Lucia Lilac (very lovely color) on all of my nails and added purple jewels and placed dots using white polish.

I did this one the week before... my summer inspired nails... apparently, everyone thought it was very springy and easter.  But I personally think the colors were bright enough to be summer inspired. :)  If you think of colors on the beach, I can totally see these colors on someone's bathing suit...

I have been getting more compliments when I started doing my nails... and people ask if I got them done by a nail professional... but it's all mmeeeeee! :)  I guess I'm getting better at this.

NOTD: Baby Blue with Polk a dots

Another Polk a dot nails. Blue nail polish from OPI - what's with the cattitude. I'm in love with this color. Used dotting tool to make the white and pink Polk a dots.
Did you know the next "in color" is blue this season? ^_^

I also did my friend's nails with same color and white polk a dots.  I'm really into doing the fourth/ ring finger differently from the others.  I think it's unique. :)  She really loved this color and the design!

I've been posting a lot of NOTD and about nails lately just cuz these are easiest posts.  Please stay tuned for some makeup product reviews.  ^_^

NOTD: Canary Yellow Polk a Dots

I used China Glaze Lemon Fizz and placed yellow flat glitter as my polk a dots.  I don't know why but it reminds me of a baby giraffe toy for babies. lol

"Cute & Cheap Finds" Haul

I had couple of random stuff I acquired in the past month, that I thought were really good finds and wanted to share with you guys.

Handbags...
I'm not really good with handling handbags... I can't get myself to buy expensive ones cuz I really don't take care of it, and I really don't think it's worth it.  The expensive ones I have, I usually don't wear, or now it has torn up (my LV bag... poor bag).  So anyhow, I try to stick to good enough quality so I can actually use them, with a little style.  Here are good ones I found... I thought they were cheap, stylish, and good quality.

From Love Culture ($37.99)
The lady at the counter said, it was a good thing I was buying it, cuz I got one of the last ones.  For that price, the quality was excellent and the design was so nice.  To me it looked way more expensive than the actual price.  Very handy too cuz it's so big and has nice compartments inside.  It's my fave bag right now! I quizzed some of the people that complimented me on the bag and asked them how much they think I bought it for... and the lowest number I got was $200!  Scooorrrrre!  Someone also told me they thought it was a Tory Burch bag... I looked it up and looks just like it... almost to every detail...  I didn't mean to buy a knock off, but seriously didn't know about it... so oh wells!

From Aldo. ($14)
Got it off the clearance rack and ended up only paying $14!  You can carry it as a clutch or a purse.  Love the color and design...

 From Aldo ($42)

I actually paid full price for this one. :) It was pink and couldn't help it... also it had tassles.  Tassles are supposedly really in right now.  But I still think it was a great buy.  I love the color, the chains... Only thing I don't like about this is that, it has two compartments that fly open when the top flap isn't closed.  So you have to becareful...  It due to the placement of the chains...

This one is a cosmetic bag from the Coach Outlet ($20)
Originally...... $88... and still $79.99 even reduced.... but got mine for $20.... it was 50% off with extra 30%!!! Once again... it's pink... and grey... all my favorite colors.  hahaha

 Hello Kitty Standing Mirror ($15)

I love Hello Kitty.  And this mirror is perfect for traveling! It fits into the Coach Makeup Bag! :)  The face part snaps on and off from the mirror backing... and it stands up on it's own! Love it!

How to make beach waves using Remington 3 in 1 Styler Blow Dryer

Recently my Remington Ion Blow Dryer died (RIP).  It’s been about 3-4 years since I bought it, so I guess it was time, and I use it on a regular basis.  So in search for a new blow dryer, I ran into another Remington Blow Dryer.  I saw a Youtube clip of this blow dryer in the works, and once again, I was AMAZED! (I get amazed by a lot of things… hhahaha)  I bought my Remington 3-in-1 Styler/Hairdryer 4-pc. Kit through Amazon, but I realized that Target sells these also.  My BFF picked one up herself at Target after I told her how cool this blow dryer was! (But check their stock before you make a trip)

It’s just a regular blow dryer with 3 tools: 1. volumizer/diffuser 2. concentrator 3. beach wave maker.  Only thing unique about this blow dryer is the beach wave maker tool.

The beach wave maker attached to the blow dryer looks like this.  Basically it’s a wind tunnel and throws your hair around and winds it up turning them into almost dread like… (however, it’s not dreads, it’s more like twisties)  So you let these dreads/twisties cool, and you toss your hair around separating it.  It’s pretty effortless and very easy to do, if you are not very good with hair tools.  It took me 15 minutes to do my hair.

So here are some before, during, and after pictures.
Before I started blow drying… slightly wavy and still wet.  I applied some Living Proof Full Thickening Mousse (which is very awesome btw).  Brushed it through.

After I twisted some hair around.  Letting it cool.

Voila! Messy Beach Waves!  I didn’t put any styling products other than my heat protectant but I’d recommend you do!  Don't expect miracles of giving you curls.  This is a beach wave maker.  Beach waves look like you went surfing in the salt water and you came out looking like this.  It doesn't "curl" your hair!

How to use:
1. Wash your hair. Towel Dry.
2. Put heat protectant or hair styling products. Brush/ comb it through.  Make sure your hair is not knotted.
3. Blow Dry your roots to give it some volume.
4. Make sure your hair is slightly damp but not soaking wet.  Section your hair to about 6-10 pieces.
5.  Turn on your Remington 3 in 1 Styler to high, drop section of your hair into the wind tunnel and move it up and down or side to side (depending on how you are holding it) until your hair is completely dry.
6.  Press the cold shoot button for a little bit.  Take your hair out.  Leave it in dreads.  Move on to the next section of hair.
7. After you are done with the entire head, let it cool, and make sure it’s completely dry.  I’d say good 10 minutes.  Might want to go take care of other things like makeup while it’s cooling.
8. Turn your hair upside down and tousle your roots separating the dreads.  Or you don’t have to flip up side down, you can just separate your dreads.
9. Apply products as you see necessary.

Miloberry Tips:
I had use it twice and tried different techniques with each of the strands to see if it had any different effects.
1. For bigger waves, grab bigger sections of hair to twirl around. (but this might take a little longer to dry)
2. Hold the blow dryer at different angles, this will twist your hair differently. I liked holding my dryer so that the ends of the wind tunnel tool was facing side to side instead of top to bottom.
3. To dry your hair faster, twist smaller sections then later grab 2 or 3 twisted sections and drop it into the wind tunnel together creating one big section from 2 or 3 sections.  This gives you slightly bigger waves.
4. Leave the dread on and go to sleep with it.  This will give even longer time to set the waves.  I slept with it and the dreads were intact when I woke up in the morning.  And my hair was soft not frizzy.
This is how my hair turned out after I tried all the tricks above. ^__^

Some Pictures from my BFF, who tried it herself.  And she loves it too! :) We both agreed it's really fun to blow dry your hair. hahahaha

Overall, I really like this blow dryer because it’s a Remington and I always had good experiences with them.  And I like how it came with all the tools like a regular blow dryer and as an added bonus, it came with the beach wave maker.  I’m totally lovin the beach waves. ^__^
And I really loved the price of this dryer.  Only $25!!!
And it has Eco Friendly Settings.
And it’s really fun using this dryer!
And I can’t say anything bad about this dryer.  I’m in love!

Here’s some Youtube videos on how people use the Remington 3 in 1 Styler.
This one is not in english, but I guess it's called the Remington Spin Curl in other countries.  But you don't need to understand.... just watch. kekeke

(btw, frmheadtotoe aka Jen is one my favorite Vloggers!)
